What Happened?

Save the environment. Save the world.

That was the gist of the caption of a news broadcast that I saw tonight.   I thought that the media had said that President Trump was already unraveled when he was elected, in addition to his having consciously and meticulously plotted with the Russian government to overthrow democracy by maliciously subverting the election process.  The media was saying that he had dementia, that he was going to kick the sanity bucket the rest of the way over while pounding the nuclear button. Then a doctor said that President Trump was sane.  Did the doctor also say that Ms. Hicks was personally responsible for preserving the last vestiges of President Trump's sanity?  If so, the media didn't say that then, so why is the media saying it now?

Nobody is asking for my opinion, and certainly nobody is paying me for it.  

Since the conglomerate has prevented me from having housing, employment and education, and since the homeless shelter is closed every day other than Sundays and for extremes of weather, I'll have to walk for several blocks from where I am to a public restroom.   This won't be the last time today that I have to figure out where the nearest public restroom is.  One advantage of being in the midst of my 5th year of homelessness since 2011 is that I know where many of the public restrooms in the Boston area are and can organize my schedule accordingly.

Mr. Obama's lewd participation in other invasive objectification of the female body was also destructive.  He perpetuated the idea that sexual harassment is funny, that it's not degrading, and that a woman who says "STOP TALKING ABOUT MY VAGINA" every day for years, without varying what she's saying, and whose behavior proves that she has no motive for saying it other than to live without being targeted for sexist abuse, deserves to be patronized.

A writer or director who wants to portray violence in film or television should have to write a paper that discusses and defends why each act of violence that he or she wants to portray is necessary to the story.  The paper should be read with the script, and its reasoning either approved or denied by a panel that is legally regulated.   Documentaries, but not reenactments, should be exempt from that requirement; so should the filming of the spoken or written discussions of survivors of and witnesses to violence.   Film and television are powerful mediums.  Their influence should stop being minimized.  

There are good, old men in the world.  It's a mistake to conflate either youth or age with automatic goodness.   Ageism is an unchallenged prejudice in the United States, scripted and reinforced for a century by an uneducated, emotionally and intellectually stunted entertainment industry that both enshrines and enslaves youth.  That prejudice can't be eradicated if the Baby Boomers won't admit to being over 30 and if the entertainment industry continues to have no EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS.  Educational requirements are the least intrusive way to address the entertainment industry's sickening abuse of the First Amendment. I shouldn't have to describe every incident of degradation for all of the degrading behavior toward me to stop. As far as I know, a phoenix is born young and can start over, free of injuries, scars and weaknesses. It is sickening how many celebrities have treated me as if their abuse of me is something that they can turn into a platitude about "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
