Ms. Ocasio-Cortez has many admirable traits, but she is not "a political star"; she is a media creation.
The country doesn't need media creations. It needs people who know what the world is all about, from having lived in it for a while.
For some things, youth is overrated. High-level political office is one of those things.
It is also unfair to place people in situations for which they are unprepared. Older people recognize patterns of behavior because they have lived for enough time to have encountered them over and over again. They can anticipate what people are going to think and do, individually and among groups. They're not always right, but they are less vulnerable to being surprised, which is really important, particularly in politics.
