Why isn't the media consistently portraying Latin America as the major investment opportunity that it is?

Other countries, and businesses from other countries, are investing in that opportunity and are going to be controlling factors in Latin America's future economy.  Why is the U.S. media only thinking from the "Poor Little Latin America" perspective?  

Everywhere in the world, there are problems.  The optimal deterrents to those problems are economic and political health.
